Atkins smashes PB in Iceland!

North Herts Road Runners’ James Atkins knocked a staggering 16 minutes off his marathon PB when he finished 25th in the Reykjavik Marathon last Saturday.  Running strongly James recorded a 1.27.18 split for the first 13.1 miles and finished in 3.04.32 just minutes outside the magical 3 hour barrier.

On Sunday Steve McKeown competed in his home town of Newmarket in a duathlon consisting of a 3mile run, 14 mile bike and 3 mile run.  An excellent bike leg saw Steve mixing it with the front pack and, coping well with the heat and off road running surfaces, he finished 5th in the race and won his age category in 1.10.59.
