RE: NHRR Report

John Franklin and Michael Mello of the North Herts Road Runners took part in the High Ongar 10k in Essex at the weekend. John Franklin completed the undulating countryside course in 41.26 while Michael Mello crossed the line in 44.04.

Natasha Pitman raced in the second of the Regent’s Park summer 10k race series. She finished 4th in the ladies’ race in 40.31 just one second behind the third place lady, Norwich runner Tracey Curl.

James Atkins made the journey to Keswick in the Lake District for this year's Skiddaw fell race. From Keswick cricket club around 150 participants raced up to the mountain summit, turned and came straight back down. The nine mile course included about 2,700 feet of ascent and contained primarily local fell runners. James finished 51st in a time 1.29.29 in wet and windy conditions some 23 minutes behind the race winner.
