North Herts Road Runners’ Pete Scrowther set a new vet 45 club record for 5 miles last Friday of 29.06. Running in the Springfield Striders Friday 5mile Scrowther was delighted with his time set on a warm evening and over a hilly course.
Pete Sibbett was also in action at the weekend taking part in the Ramsey 10km trail race and finished in 37.30.
Finally some intrepid members took part in the Barton 10km which is held off road and requires competitors to run up some very steep hills. Despite the heat the Road Runners recorded some excellent times with Chris Walby first home for the club in 19th with 44.10 followed by Jo Summers 49.50, Sharon Gregson 52.26, Paul Bowal 54.26, Mike Pym 55.55 and Brian Judkins, running 3 minutes faster than his previous best, in 65.48.
