GIBBS WINS AT WELWYN

 

North Herts Road Runners’ Rachel Gibbs enjoyed a runaway victory in the Division 1 Midweek League Fixture held at Welwyn last Thursday.  Setting a new PB for the 10km distance of 36.34 Rachel was over a minute ahead of the 2^nd placed lady, Jo Kent of Barnet & District.  With the  ladies team finishing 3^rd and men 4^th Road Runners again finished 3^rd overall 1 place ahead of local rivals Fairlands Valley Spartans.  Stewart Smither held on to 1^st V60 in 41.46 and Paula Adams was 4^th V35 in 41.22.  Pete Scrowther set a PB of 36.08 finishing 5^th V40 and led the men’s veteran team home to remain in 1^st position overall.  With a fantastic turnout of 63 runners first man home for the club was James Atkins in 35.49.
