The Hertfordshire Cross Country championships took place at Cassiobury Park in Watford on Sunday. Rachel Gibbs of the North Herts Road Runners finished 4th in the ladies' race following an excellent run. Her time of 29.50 was enough to finish under a minute behind ladies' champion C Hallisey of Watford Harriers. Jo Harbon was the next Squirrel over the line finishing in 39.07 for 40th place. A Callis completed the 8km course in 42.09 with Lindsay Cook finishing in 43.47.
Neil Miller of the North Herts Road Runners finished the men's 12km race in an impressive 10th place and a time of 40.11. The winner, A Bowden, of Harrow Athletic club broke the tape in 36.21. Gary Cook was the next NHRR man over the line in 52nd place and a time of 46.45 with Stewart Bryant coming home in 49.11 for 68th place. Johnny Spinks finished in 49.49 and 70th place. Chris Priestley returned from New Year in New York to a frosty Watford park to run a time of 52.36 to finish 81st while Martyn Annetts crossed the line in 53.38 and finished in 88th place.
