There was no shortage of North Herts Road Runners competing in the Hatfield Broad Oak 10k on Bank Holiday Monday. 23 club members braved the unpleasant conditions to travel to the picturesque Hertfordshire village for this ever popular race.
The ladies' team continued their recent run of success securing another first place. Astrid McKeown led the way finishing in 2nd place in 37.05. She took home the ladies' veteran title. Melissa Winters and Paula Adams secured the win for the ladies, finishing in 40.09 and 40.48 respectively. Jo Harbon crossed the line in 48.19 to take 393rd place overall with Rachel Annetts completing the 6.1 mile course in 52.58. Gillian Hopkins came home in 56.05.
Steve McKeown, Astrid's husband, was the first male North Herts Road Runner across the line. He recorded a time of 34.25 to take 11th place overall. Richard Harbon was the next to finish in 61st place and a time of 39.06. Adrian Sherwood has recently recovered from injury and completed the course in an encouraging time of 40.54. Dave Frampton was just behind in 40.59. Michael Moralee and Paul Kelley were the next to finish in 42.17 and 42.34 respectively.

Stewart Smyther of the North Herts Road Runners ran in the new London BUPA 10k on Monday 26th May. He finished the crowded but well supported race in 616th position in a time of 46.14.
